Carlos Olivares, APC

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Carlos Olivares is a graduate of Western State University College of Law where he received his juris doctor in 1994. He also attended California State University, Northridge and the University Ibero Americana in Mexico City. Mr. Olivares was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1995 and has been a member in good standing since.

Mr. Olivares began his practice handling various civil matters but eventually began to concentrate on family law. Understanding what an emotional and traumatic event a divorce can be, Mr. Olivares decided to focus in family law to help people navigate the divorce process. He has taken the required training for certification as minor’s counsel.

Mr. Olivares is a member of the State Bar of California, State Bar of California–Family Law Section, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association–Family Law Section, Mexican-American Bar Association and Southeast District Bar Association. He is also a volunteer with the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Domestic Violence Project and is a mediator for the Southeast Bar Association in the Norwalk Court.

Fluent in Spanish, Mr. Olivares has appeared on television and radio programs discussing family-law issues on Univision and La Voz Del Pueblo.

Carlos and his wife, Deborah, have four adult children between them. In their free time, they enjoy traveling in their RV, golfing and bowling. Carlos is also an amateur astronomer.
